I really wasn't feeling up to watching this one at first because I've had MCU fatigue for quite a while and I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland as Spidey, but I'm glad I was convinced to go, partially because I wanted to see Zendaya again. Have you seen her?? She's gorgeous.

Tom Holland has really grown into the role. It just felt more like Spider-Man, and I'm so glad we're out of the school days now. I really loved the themes of loneliness, loss, and struggling with your identity and trusting others. I'm not particularly interested in Jean Grey as a character, but Sadie Sink did a really amazing job in her portrayal. I won't lie, I cried a little bit. Yes, the Marvel sloppa movie made me cry. I knew it was going to happen too. I thought, "The only way that Peter can stop her rampage is by being vulnerable and letting her in" and I was right. Maybe a little predictable, but I thought it was touching. The V-Max reveal was also insanely messed up.

It was also fun to see how much chemistry Peter still had with Ned and MJ despite their memories being wiped. Saw the twist of MJ being mind controlled too, but you gotta love a guy who is easily manipulated by the image of his lover... it's cute. The talk Peter had with MJ towards the end? Heartbreaking, but true. She doesn't know who he is anymore, but the promise of a fresh start was really sweet. It was nice to see Punisher too!! I loved his dynamic with Peter, and I liked his redesign too. It feels a little more... easier to take seriously I suppose? Don't get me wrong, I like Punisher. Remind me to read Cosmic Ghost Rider, by the way.

My face lit up so much when Tame Impala started playing during the party scene! Very good song choice, "Loser" is definitely a song I had on repeat for a couple of weeks afterwards. Also, the product placement was very noticeable hahaha. I guess it makes sense when there were a lot of movie promotions like with Little Caesars.

I can't believe how jacked Tom Holland has gotten. It totally caught me off guard. I'll admit it... he even looked cute when he was bruised, beat up, and bloody... please no bully. With this movie, I guess I'm back on the MCU train again! Just a little. Spider-Man is my favorite, after all. Was this movie perfect? No, but I appreciated how fresh it felt and the seeds it planted for future installments, especially for The X-Men. I want to rewatch the Sam Raimi movies now too.

By the way, what happened to that poor boy shot by Peter's web and the guy who was stuck in his helicopter after they were possessed?? Were they just forgotten about?

I remember this series upon release because a couple of my old oekaki buddies watched it, but I didn't end up watching it myself until just now. I watched it with my bestie, who made it a fantastic experience. Honestly, I'm glad I watched it now because I think I would have dropped it if I had tried to watch it as a high schooler.

Even though this series is also by Ikuhara, it's way more abstract than Utena. There's a lot of symbolism in Utena too, but you can still clearly tell what's happening most of the time. Pengiundrum is much harder to parse. Let's talk about the good! The art is beautiful. I love the style and it IS definitely a mark of anime from its time, with the facial proportions, the melted fingers technique, and the highlight style. I like it! The music? Fantastic! I'd happily listen to the OST anytime. The characters? I really like most of them, with Shouma and Esmeralda being my favorite. Himari is absolutely adorable and it's hard not to love her.

I think the biggest problem with this series is that it doesn't know what to do with itself and becomes too convoluted. There's twists and turns at every corner, but none of it ever amounts to anything (heh). Reveals that should be plot shattering end up never getting brought up again. When it's this difficult to tell what's real and what's not real in the series and a character's motivations suddenly change on a whim, it makes you care less about understanding why it's happening and simply surrender to the madness presented to you. This anime presents some wonderful concepts involving family, love, and fate, but ends up falling flat in its execution. I wanted to learn more about the child broiler. I wanted to learn more about the terrorist organization. How did Momoka and Sanetoshi gain the power to become entities? Does that mean they were never real people to begin with?

It's Ikuhara, so expect incest, rape, unnecessary nudity of teenage girls, and unusual depictions of love. I like the way you can understand more of the opening animation as you uncover more of the story. I wish there was more focus on how Himari's illness prevented her from becoming an idol and how she handled seeing her best friends rise to stardom without her, I was really interested in that especially. We don't even know if they're still in contact until towards the end of the series. I kept expecting them to have more of a role considering their image is constantly shown to us, but it was just a red herring. To put it simply: the story is a clusterfuck. A fun clusterfuck that I enjoyed and made me laugh plenty of times, but a clusterfuck nonetheless. The ending felt like a bit of a cop-out, but I wasn't mad at it. It was bittersweet that everyone was able to start over, since I imagine the world they were from was a doomed one anyway.

Overall, I would only recommend this anime if you're a hardcore Ikuhara fan and/or love extreme symbolism in your media, and don't mind the fact that there will still be loose ends by the time you finish it. I'm glad I gave it a chance, but I don't think I would watch it again. It's about what you expect! Laughed a lot, got grossed out a lot. I can't believe how old everyone is now... I grew up with a lot of MTV trash, so Jackass has a special place in my heart, especially since Johnny was inspiration for Travis. Lots of familiar footage, but they showed some new stuff too, and some clips that weren't shown on TV before, like the convict stunt which is one of my favorites. The magic bull stunt is still hard to watch. I swear when I went to see Jackass Forever, everyone in the theater was dead silent in shock when Johnny got flipped over. Not the case here though! Everyone is so endearingly stupid. I actually have the box set of the TV show because it's a bit of a comfort show for me, now I want to pull it out and watch it again. My favorite is probably the Anaconda Ball Pit.

I got invited to see this movie on a whim. It was my first time going to the movies in 7 months and I had never even heard of it. When I saw Spielberg's name on the credits, everything clicked for me. I didn't particularly like any of the characters, but I think Emily Blunt gave a really amazing performance. I couldn't help but think it was all very silly and that in the real world, no one would care about alien abuse since humans have become numb to the suffering of other living creatures and are blind to the truth even when it's right in front of them. Nice of them to give Victor Wembanyama a cameo though.

This movie started out with great promise. The animation is beautiful, and the opening with the Romani women singing was enchanting. It then proceeds to take a turn for the worse however. I really struggled to finish it and mostly did so just to see eyepatch Roy, who was once again depressed and out of character. It's BAD. Canon nazi AU Maes Hughes gave me psychic damage that I'm still recovering from. Holy shit. Don't watch this movie. Movie director Bradley was funny I guess, but still not worth watching it for.

The anime that thrust the series into the heights of popularity! I still remember when it made its debut on Adult Swim, but I didn't watch much of it growing up. My bestie begged me not to watch this version of FMA, but I was stubborn. I watched it for two reasons: I had a curiosity to satisfy, and I also wanted to see more of the characters. Was it worth it? Not really, to be honest. But I'm a masochist, so I watched the whole thing, shout out to my bestie for trudging through it with me.This series isn't available on official streaming services and now after finishing it, I understand why. It's an incomplete, obsolete version of FMA that is no longer relevant.

The beginning of the series is great! I like how it starts off. The art style is wonderful and looks better than Brotherhood in my opinion, since BH is so blocky. The music is amazing and very nostalgic. I liked most of the anime only characters. Seeing more of the homunculi was interesting. Archer was nice to look at until he gets randomly turned into a cyborg. Make it make sense. It's too hard to separate this series from the original work and appreciate it for being its own thing. I was excited to see more of the characters, but they often act out of character and feel hollow, like actors playing a character and not the characters themselves. Everyone's motives are all over the place, and they do things that go against the original's deeply embedded values. Edward would have never killed. Roy wouldn't care about burning up "traitors" during the war. Al wouldn't act so brainless. Scar would never be this pathetic, even as a beautiful bishie like he was depicted here.

Along with that, the world of this series makes no sense. What's cool about FMA is how grounded the world is and how rich the world building is in general. The alchemy is based on real life chemistry and has rules that can be followed easily. The alchemy in this series is more like magic and has no rhyme or reason as to how things happen.

I've seen some fans say they prefer this series over BH because it's "darker". That's not the point of FMA. If that's your reasoning for liking it, you entirely missed the message Arakawa was giving with the series. This series completely contradicts the source material. And hey, I get it. The manga was still new at that time, so they didn't have a lot of material to work with or a real idea of a character's true nature. They did what they could.

Did we really need Tucker to live though? Dante's design was lovely, but her motivation as a villain was so underwhelming. Ed and Al's mom revealed to be a homunculus had me completely speechless, in a bad way. Then the last episode... I actually didn't completely hate the idea of a bridge between two worlds shockingly enough, but it would need to be executed completely differently. It felt like a cop-out instead. RIP to AU Ed. It feels like no one cared about him or even mentioned his absence.

After all 51 episodes, my greatest reward was hearing Roy scream as he got stabbed and watching him bleed and crumple to the floor. It almost made up for no Olivier at all, but I missed her greatly. If you prefer this series to BH, you are probably at least one of the following four: blinded by nostalgia, an edgelord, a contrarian, or an EdxAl shipper. I would not recommend this anime to anyone, not even to satisfy your curiosity like I set out to do. Listen to everyone who tells you it's basically official fanfiction.

It had been a while since I watched anything with a certain friend of mine, in fact the last movie I remember us watching together was Interstellar. I had some free time so I asked her what she wanted to watch next and she suggested this movie! All she had to say was "Ryan Gosling" and I was already on board. She saw it twice in theaters, but I went in blind. I loved it! I loved the character Ryan played, and the emotional story between two very different beings becoming close friends. I'm a big fan of any piece of media that shows just how deep platonic bonds can go. The soundtrack was wonderful as well. Even though the stakes were were still high, it's a lot more lighthearted than Interstellar and I appreciated it a lot.

Definitely recommend this movie, especially if you're already a Ryan Gosling fan! After the movie, my friend told me about how fujos have gone to town with the shipping art of characters from this movie. Man, I love my fujoshi sisters.

This show has been a wild ride and now it's finally come to an end. I wanna say I started watching it in 2020? I don't quite remember. Seasons 1 and 2 are great, 3 is fine, and season 4 is where things started to jump the shark. Season 5 was complete and total garbage with an alright final episode. I'm fine with how things ended, in fact I found everything pretty predictable. It's the lead up to the finale that was awful. Why build up the Gen V characters only to not use them and give them a tiny cameo in season 5? Why build up Soldier Boy to be this crazy ruthless character only for him to make the stupidest decision ever and then dump him back in cryo? Why was Sage even there? Wasted potential all around.

Kimiko was my favorite character but she got completely and totally ruined. A-Train had an interesting character development arc throughout the series. I think Homelander's death just about what I expected. It's been hinted throughout the show he is a needy child seeking approval from others underneath all that power he holds. Hmm... sounds familiar. Butcher's death at the end was predictable too. After he killed Homelander, he didn't have anything to live for anymore and he was too traumatized of a man to keep on going after Ryan rightfully rejected him. How was the virus cleaned out of the sprinkler system? Wouldn't they have to condemn the whole building?

At one point I tried to read the comics, which was a huge mistake. Those things are hideous and believe it or not, the source material is even more raunchy than the show. I dropped it pretty early on and I'm amazed it was able to get a decent adaptation as a TV show. If I'm feeling particularly masochistic, I'll try reading it again. Little fun fact, the creator of the comics actually did the box art for No More Heroes 3!

I'm glad MM got the happy ending he deserved. By far the worst death in the series was Terror. It was an alright experience overall for capeshit sloppa. Even though it's a parody, I had to cringe at how painfully realistic civilian reactions felt at times.

Wolf's Rain has been a longtime nostalgic series for me. I used to watch it when it aired on AS back in the 2000s and I bought a copy of the first manga volume at a book fair. My favorite character growing up was Toboe, who is still my favorite, just alongside Blue and Kiba. I'm a sucker for characters voiced by JYB... Am I a furry if I admit that I like Kiba? Please no bully.

Despite all of the fuzzy nostalgic feelings and personal attachment I have to this series, I don't know if I can recommend it. I'll start with the good points:

The music: The music of this series is absolutely incredible. I sing along to Gravity all the time with tears in my eyes. Yoko Kanno collaborated with many talented international artists to create something truly amazing. I was lucky enough to see Raj Ramayya perform strangers live. If nothing else, I highly encourage you to listen to the original soundtrack.

The art and character design: Really great example of how memorable characters don't need to be overdesigned! I think each character's design suits their personality well and they are all very distinct. Cheza's design is unforgettable. The animation is lovely and the wolves look and behave like real ones when shown in their true form.

The story concept and atmosphere: To this day there's still nothing quite like Wolf's Rain. It's heavy, emotional, and the world building draws you in. It mixes fairytale with an apocalyptic setting, and the humans are just spectators to it all if they're not blissfully unaware.

The story during the second half is where everything falls flat, however. You might be wondering why I only just recently finished this series despite it being a childhood favorite of mine. The answer is the OVA! The series didn't have a proper ending until the OVA released because four whole episodes of the original series were just recap filler episodes due to budget restraints. Somehow, I didn't get to watch the OVA until now.

26 episodes isn't a lot, but I think this anime would have improved by reducing that number even more. The overall pacing is not good and makes it a chore to get through at times. The OVA is pure misery porn and even though I cried plenty, all of the death just felt cheap. It's sad and tragic just for the sake of it. The weight of the journey at least would have been softened if it weren't for the ending. The ending is bittersweet and open-ended. It's not like I expected a happy ending, but when the ending CAN be interpreted as hopeless loop, it just makes me think of the futility of it all, and how the journey these wolves went on feels similar to the wild ride of life. By the way, loops really were trendy at this time weren't they? I guess it's a product of its time.

Weird fanfic of a movie! I didn't hate it. I totally called the twist at the end. Lots of eye candy characters to look at, but not nearly enough Roy!! I would have rather had more Roy tbh. The best part of this movie is the animation, it's gorgeous and even looks very Ghibli. I'm not sure of the exact names here, but I know there was some crossover with the team that worked on this film and that's why it looks so nice.

I watched this with my bestie!!! I was already well acquainted with FMA since it used to air on Adult Swim when I was growing up, but I was more of a casual fan and never finished '03 or BH. It had been on my watch list forever until my bestie pushed me to watch it with her and my goodness!!! I should have watched it way sooner, but it's alright since I had such a fun time watching it together.

Arakawa is a genius. Hoenheim was useless to the end. Al is my son. Pinako is badass. The dub is good and nostalgic. There's so many likable characters, the whole cast is really amazing. I had fun thirsting over the characters with my bestie while she tried to play matchmaker with me.

I don't have much else to say except that I finally understand why this is considered one of the greatest animes of all time and definitely agree. I don't care if it's a "basic" choice, it's good for a reason! I'm now watching '03 and reading the manga and will probably say a little more about those in separate entries once I finish them.

I watched this with a good friend of mine who really likes space movies. I remember wanting to see it in theaters all those years ago when it released, but I just never got around to watching it. What a masterpiece of a film! Bittersweet to the end and I loved TARS.

I never watched the Power Rangers growing up, so it was interesting seeing a show cover a similar process and how it shockingly worked so well? At least to me. It was cheesy and predictable as hell, and I loved every minute of it. I loved the main characters, I loved the story and the way I could turn my brain off and enjoy how over the top it was, I loved the "stronger together" mantra throughout the series, and I even loved the butt rock. Hell, I think I might even slightly prefer it to the original Ryuki, because we actually do get a female rider and she is smoking hot.

I have an embarrassing thing to admit. During the early episodes in the show, I couldn't stop staring at Len and I didn't understand why. He's a completely unremarkable looking guy to most women right? Well, it turns out his actor, Matt Mullins is actually the face model for Chris Redfield! The fact hit me like a truck and everything all made sense. It was a funny coincidence! It was so much fun watching this with friends and I would definitely watch it again and gladly collect the DVDs.

Saw it twice in theaters!! I really loved it and had IRIS OUT on repeat for a week, especially since it also reminded me of my dynamic with Travis. The first time, we were completely alone in the theater which was really nice. I still haven't read the manga though, so I really need to get around to doing that.

I'm a big GDT fan, so I was excited to see our local independently owned theater had a showing of this movie. For how long it is, it went by in a flash. I was fully engaged the whole time. Now, most people's gripes with this movie is that it's not a faithful adaptation of Mary Shelley's original novel. While that would be nice to have, if you're expecting something like that from GDT, you've got the wrong guy. He is most certainly only going to loosely adapt a work and make it his own. To quote someone else, "GDT is a weird girl making weird movies for other weird girls".

Everything was fantastic. From the costume design, to the sets, to the creature himself, but the tradeoff is that the story gets simplified and can be boiled down to "Victor was the the true monster all along!". Not an exciting or shocking revelation, and it doesn't carry the complexity the original novel has. I wasn't bothered by it myself, but I can understand why it was disappointing for many. I wasn't expecting Jacob Elordi underneath there either, but I should have known from his height and build alone. Visually, I loved it more than The Shape of Water, another creature film directed by GDT, but I don't know if I'd say I like it better overall. Still great though!

I watched this with my bestie because it's one of her favorites and I'm glad I did!! It's SO adorable!! Tsumugi is one of the cutest characters to ever exist and her seiyuu did a great job. It would have been nice to get an adaptation of the entire manga, but I'm happy with what we did get. Definitely a short and sweet (heh) watch if you're looking for something uplifting and fluffy.

Cool premise! The story has a pacing problem and a lot of plot points that don't go anywhere. I honestly felt like it's very slow until the last 10 episodes or so, where everything hits you at once. I liked the twist! Keitaro is a real sweetheart and it was fun to bully Takumi in chat throughout the series. Did you see the way his hair changes? That hairstylist had a field day. I hated Kusaka, not because he is mean but because he is ugly. Despite this, his death still shocked me.

A good friend who is in the animation industry recommended this show to me, so I gave it a chance. The animation really is gorgeous!! The characters, the bright colors, and the environments are all beautifully crafted with a feminine touch and the audience definitely feels catered towards the same, unlike many other all-female cast shows. Magical girls mixed with idols is not something I expected, but I loved it a lot! All of the characters have their own emotional backstory and I cried quite a few times. I really hope there's a second season, I don't want to say goodbye yet! As the friend I introduced this anime to said, we need a rhythm game!!! Please make it happen!

Bear's brother wanted the family over for Father's Day to eat and watch movies together. The first one we watched was The Shining which I had already seen and this one. Bear's parents didn't care for it but I really liked it, though admittedly I will be willing to watch most movies Rob Pat is in, and the sci-fi theme had my attention right away. I loved Mickey (he was so cutely pathetic) and Nasha but the satire was a little too on the nose for me. I didn't even realize that was Mark Ruffalo until after the fact! I should probably go watch Parasite now because I still haven't seen it, which was by the same director.

I told Bear we could wait until after Christmas to watch this one and he refused without a second thought. Of course we brought Build-a-Bear Sonic with us so he could enjoy the movie too. It was great!! Honestly I think this might be my favorite out of the trilogy so far. Jim Carrey as both Robotniks was hilarious and I think Shadow's story was pretty well adapted to the big screen and for a younger audience. Everyone was so hyped up when "Live and Learn" started playing, and I definitely screamed when I saw the Amy reveal.

Some highlights from the audience during the movie: A woman preserving a long running joke by asking "Is that Sonic?" during the beginning when Shadow was still in a tube, and the excitable boys next to me yelling "ROBO SONIC! ROBO SONIC!" during the end credits scene. That's METAL SONIC, you uncultured toddlers!!

Had a watch party with a friend! It's her favorite anime and it's only 12 episodes, so I decided why not give it a try? I was hooked right away from just a few episodes. Phos is so cute!! Their growth as a character is very bittersweet. The animation is gorgeous but that's to be expected from Studio Orange (That reminds me that Dimension W is on my to watch list). I have a feeling the Lunarians are Kongo-sensei's past coming to haunt him, but I'll have to read the manga to find out more I suppose. My favorite characters are Dia and Red Beryl!

Pure Marvel slop. I liked the first two movies so I'm not sure what happened here. The tone was all over the place and the ending is supposed to be emotional but I felt nothing. It's not even worth my time to type all the problems I had with this movie. Tom Hardy is really starting to look way too haggard, he was hard to look at the whole time which is strange considering I loved him in Fury Road. Wait, that was nearly 10 years ago? Shit.

Bear and I went on a Monday and I had never seen the movie theater so empty before, and the seats were cheap too. We were literally the only ones in the theater. 10/10 experience even if the movie itself wasn't good. We didn't even stay to watch the ending credits scene, but watching Venom dance was cute at least.

Man, my aunt sure has interesting taste in movies. I went in completely blind and it was an engaging, intense watch but I also never want to watch it again and I would never recommend this movie to anyone. I really wish I could unsee that big man sniffing teenage girl crotches. He reminded me a lot of Debilitas from Haunting Ground.

I related to Beth's maladaptive daydreaming tendencies and the scenes with Beth and her mother together were very touching, but what kind of loving mother would leave her other daughter to be locked up in the basement like that instead of getting her help? I understand the vision they were going for here, but they couldn't sell it to me. It simply felt like any other exploitation film, where the "horror" is women being tortured. The film was further soured for me when I found out that Vera's actor (Taylor Hickson) now has a scar across her face thanks to the director not ensuring the safety of a particular scene.

Here's yet another anime I wish I had watched back in middle school. I was first introduced to it by the 4Kids dub Magical DoReMi and then later watched a couple of episodes of the original Japanese series, but stopped for whatever reason (maybe it was the sheer number of episodes/seasons?). This anime had so many touching moments that brought me to tears, multiple times. I can't believe little girls anime is making me cry at my age.

Doremi, Aiko, and Hazuki all have their unique backgrounds with a good amount of attention on each and their frienship was very heartwarming. I'm glad Onpu eventually joins the crew and is never depicted as a villain, but simply a girl who makes honest mistakes and learns from them, growing more considerate as a result.

My favorite characters are Hazuki and Seki-sensei! I'm so glad Onpu is there to carry the second half of the show because I couldn't stand Oyajide and I couldn't believe such a perverted character was played for laughs in a kid's show, even if he has been reduced to a blob. I'm now watching the second season and I'm shocked that a serious topic like suicide was brought up by the second episode. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the baby plot at all and I'm not sure how much of it I can stomach, but I really liked the first season (and I'm told the baby stuff gets better) so I'll try to keep watching.

One of my artist alley peeps recommended this movie and posted showtimes in my city, so I told Bear we had to go since it was only showing for 2 days. If you draw, watch this movie!! It's actually based on a manga by the creator of Chainsaw Man (that I just got as a gift from Bear). The animation style is gorgeous and I love that some of the line work was kept a little rough to resemble a drawing, it made the movements even more soulful.

So many moments were very relatable and I found Fujino's personality a perfect contrast to Kyomoto's hikki tendencies. I really enjoyed seeing their friendship blossom and find success together. Maybe Fujino is a bit selfish and has her own agenda, but there's no way you can do something as intimate as make manga and art together without creating a close bond.

As soon as the big conflict happened between Fujino and Kyomoto happened, I already knew where this was going. One of my personal policies is to never lash out (no matter how angry or betrayed I feel) and say something I might regret to someone I love for this exact reason, you never know if that will end up being the last thing you say to them. Despite Fujino putting her down and discouraging her from moving on from making manga together, Kyomoto never stopped being a fan of Fujino-sensei. When it was revealed Kyomoto kept her autograph this whole time hanging on her door and collected all of her manga volumes, I was instantly in tears. I like to think those two are in that alternative universe together, making collab manga and loving each other for the rest of their lives.

A friend and I watched this together, not really knowing what the plot entailed other than the obvious. We loved it! It made me yearn for a coven to call my own, so it was heartbreaking to watch the girls completely fall apart. I know the theme here was that they were corrupted by power, but I don't exactly see what's so wrong about Bonnie healing her physical scars and Rochelle getting back at her racist bully. I hated that Sarah and Nancy were pitted against each other with a stupid jock boy thrown in the mix.

Admittedly, I didn't care too much for Sarah who was definitely depicted as angelic and perfect on purpose. Maybe I'm just biased because I felt so bad for Nancy and absolutely hated that she is left at a psych ward at the end of the movie. She came from a bad background so it's no wonder she turned out that way! She's just misunderstood (listen... we could have fixed her). Genuinely scary towards the end. Might be another one to add to the favorite movie list!

One of my friends (with the same name!!) loves this movie and I was very excited to finally watch it. Sam is absolutely adorable and I want to hug him and spoil him by filling his bag full of candy. Even without his mask he's still so cute, in a similar way to the Eraserhead baby. I enjoy anthology movies and thought it was really cool how they all tied together at the end, especially since they weren't shown in order of the events happening. This is a movie I'm going to want to watch again every Halloween season. I need my own Sam! Where are my fellow werewolf women at and how can I join the pack?

In October I wanted to challenge myself and watch 13 new horror movies before the month ended. I was not successful and only watched 5, but at least I got to finally experience Evil Dead! Bear said I would like Ash and he was right... I enjoyed watching him get covered in blood and witnessing his descent into madness greatly.

As we were watching the first movie, I asked if it was actually a dark comedy. I'm glad they leaned into the comedy aspect in the sequels because I was laughing, though it wasn't intentional for the first film. The stop motion sequence at the end was so cool! Very experimental and I loved it. During this time, my internet was having issues for about a week and a half and we couldn't stream anything online. Bear and I ended up making the trip to buy the other two movies physically, where I also picked up a box set of Jackass and Trick 'r Treat.

I like that each movie is very loose in its continuation. With the amount of slapstick, Sam Raimi must really love The Three Stooges or something. 2 was my overall favorite and I actually prefer the original ending for Army of Darkness, which I thought was hilarious and not depressing at all. Finally, I can wear my Earthworm Jim x Evil Dead shirt without being a poser.

Beetlejuice is my favorite movie, so I went into this skeptical but curious, keeping my expectations low. I didn't expect to see Lydia advance into such a vulnerable state but I guess it worked for the sake of the sequel.

I probably wouldn't watch it again anytime soon, but I enjoyed it and glad I got to watch it. I like Jenna Ortega a lot and she's perfectly cast as Lydia's daughter. I also find myself liking Delia more and more as I get older. She's unhinged and owns it, which made me a little sad when they suddenly killed her off. Maybe I'm a little dumb for not realizing it but the twist in the middle actually caught me by surprise (I thought the twist was going to be that Lydia's ex husband was still alive this whole time and that's why she couldn't see him) and was a relief because unwarranted romances always have me rolling my eyes.

The plot with Delores started out promising but ended up completely useless. Did we really need a decoy antagonist? Wasn't it already obvious Rory (who I kept calling Gaston in my head) was just using Lydia? Still, it was satisfying to see his downfall, and Michael Keaton really stole the show. I could have done without that weird number at the end though.

I always found the depiction of the bureaucratic afterlife in Beetlejuice equally interesting and horrifying. On the way home from the movie, our friend remarked that she didn't like how nothing about the afterlife's rules were explanained and I reminded her that the first movie didn't explain anything either, it simply was. Sometimes there's merit to leaving a little mystery.

Can you believe I've never seen the full movie until now? I know, embarrassing! How could I call myself a horror and an H.R. Giger fan? Every time I would catch it on TV over the years, I somehow would only see the ending. Thankfully a few friends and I remedied this by watching it toghether for the first time and now I can confidently say this is another addition to my favorite movie list. The tension was incredible! Every moment had me on edge and the atmosphere is simply unmatched. I know re-releases of movies in theaters are just cash grabs, but I would happily pay to see this one on the big screen. Masterpiece, and I forever love Sigourney Weaver. If you enjoy indie music, I recommend this song that's inspired by the movie.

Big thank you to my friend Z for hosting our watch parties! It was a lot of fun. This was my first KR series. Previously, I had only seen Shin Kamen Rider which I enjoyed, especially the women of the movie, but the main character infuriated me! He was way too pathetic and not in a cute way. To go from that to a full cast of 13 riders and side characters was very refreshing for me, and I'm always a fan of battle royales. Despite the fact that this series has so many riders, it didn't feel overwhelming thanks to the introduction of the riders being spaced out.

The strong point of Ryuki is its characters. I liked most of the main cast and even my least favorite characters were made tolerable thanks to being carried by the rest of the cast or by the grace of having less screentime. The story though, was kind of a mess! There's a lot of unanswered questions and tidbits of lore that get brought up once and then never again, the inclusion of ORE Journal seemed pointless (but I'll forgive this since it gave us two queens, Shimada and Reiko) and I totally think the ending was a cop-out (even if I'm glad no one really had to die). I also was not a fan of the tinnitus simulator multiple times each episode... but I loved the characters and the rider designs so much that it was easy to overlook.

My favorite characters are Asakura, Tezuka, Shinji and Ren (and especially their dynamic together!). We were so robbed of Yui as a female rider. I've been told the movie serves as an alternate ending so I'll have to give it a watch sometime. It was such a wild ride, now we're watching Faiz but I'm not sure if we'll get to finish it and I'm also enjoying it a lot less than Ryuki admittedly.

I'm not gonna lie, I mostly watched these movies to oogle at young Hugh Jackman, though I did enjoy them even if they didn't age well. Piotr makes a couple of cameos!! No Russian accent for his single line though, hmph. Out of all of these, I enjoyed X2 the most. During the end of The Wolverine I suddenly realized I had seen the last 10 minutes of this movie before on cable and forgot all about it. I don't really have anything to say except that it was a fun ride and Logan sure seems to fall in love easily.

Dammit, the mouse got my money again. I really enjoyed it!! There were a crazy amount of references to movies from over a decade ago so it was fun to catch all the Easter eggs, and I laughed a lot. I brought along my Colossus figure and was very satisfied to see him in the movie for a whole 15 seconds.

Watched this with friends! It wasn't good and I wish I had been able to drink during the watch party but it made me laugh a bit. The opening theme is pretty catchy. Dokuro-chan herself is really cute and I'd love to cosplay her.

Mad Max is one of my favorite film series so I was pretty excited for this one. Was it as good as Fury Road or The Road Warrior? No, and nothing ever will be, but I appreciated it for what it was. Max is completely absent except for a brief cameo. How does the timeline in this series work anyway? Max was still alive right before everything became a desert wasteland... best not to think about it, I guess.

Seeing Furiosa's origin and her homeland was refreshing and feels like a nice supplement to the previous movie. I loved Chris Hemsworth's morally grey character, he was a lot of fun to watch outside of his usual role as Thor. As for Anya... I think it worked, up until a certain point. The closer it got to present day Furiosa, the harder it was to sell considering she was originally played by Charlize Theron. The size difference sticks out like a sore thumb! At least there was no shortage of explosions. Man, I love seeing things get blown up. I want to see Immortan Joe's origin story next, which apparently is covered in a comic. I'll get to it eventually.

It was entertaining, cheesy as hell, and just plain goofy. I was marginally interested in the movie from the get-go because the concept seemed interesting, but Ryan Gosling as the lead really sealed the deal for me. "I was Made for Lovin' You" is still stuck in my head (shout out to Mima's KISS shrine). We tried out a new fancy movie theater for this one and was very impressed with their dinner menu, but was jumpscared by a peeping tom when I went to the restroom. He's in every single stall! WHY!

This was one of the stupidest movies I've ever seen and I loved it. It was pure brainless fun and action, full of tired tropes but still a good time. There were a lot of moments where the everything was just TOO silly or over the top and we'd burst out laughing, especially that one scene that was basically nothing but ape noises for 20 minutes straight.

Seeing my girl Mothra was such a huge treat though!! She looked very radiant and cute and not even the girl with the perpetually worried expression could damper my excitement. My friend and I kept making dumb comments and jokes about how we wanted to date Kong. After the movie, she said she wanted to make a fancam of him but it turns out, it already exists!

The entire series gets condensed into these two movies!! We watched them both dubbed, a week apart from each other. The first movie covers the first 8 episodes of the anime and the second one covers the rest. Fanservice is eye-roll incuding but whatever, Kamina is still cute and definitely would have been on my husbando list if I had watched the anime when I was a teenager. I liked Viral a lot more this time around. The final fight in the second movie is CRAZY and so, so beautifully animated!! I need an attitude more like everyone here. Humanity is doomed you say? We're still going to try to save it anyway! I see how this show influenced Bear so much, heh...

It was kind of hilarious to see Simon go from being a twink to JACKED in a matter of seconds thanks to the power of spiral energy. I think he went Super Saiyan. That scene with everyone paralyzed by seeing the endless possibilities in front of them really resonated with me... Simon's ending was so sad though! He got the glory, saved humanity and all of the other spiral beings in the universe and just... runs away to be a vagrant for the rest of his days? I guess I'd leave too after the humilation of my fiancé dissolving into nothingness in front of everyone at the wedding. At least he has Buta with him.

Chicken Run was a movie I watched plenty of times as a kid on VHS and I've been a longtime fan of Wallace and Gromit too! Kind of random a sequel came out 23 years later, but I enjoyed it nontheless. Ginger and Rocky have a kid named Molly, safe on the island they inhabited after escaping the farm, but she wants to know what's beyond the island! Instead of telling her daughter the truth about why she shouldn't leave the island, she doubles down on the typical adult "because I told you so" excuse and surprise surprise, Molly does the opposite of what she's told! Surprise Pikachu face. Mrs. Tweedy is back and got a yassified makeover, her VA reprised her role but not Ginger for some reason. It wasn't groundbreaking, but I am glad it got made and I definitely liked it a lot better than Early Man.

I went into this one mostly blind aside from a couple of infamous clips, not knowing it's basically an ecchi and harem anime. The English dub combined with the grotesquely exaggerated expressions was hilarious, but even at 6 episodes it tends to drag on. The girl crazy protagonist, Kintarou, sports a new job every episode but eventually gets kicked out for being a toilet-obsessed freak or beaten to a pulp, or both. After he's gone, the main woman of each episode realize that wait, Kintarou was actually a great guy and fall in love with him! Rinse and repeat. It made me laugh for a couple of hours at least.

Pokémon AND stop motion animation? Count me in! Haru is a young woman who has recently been going through a tough time. Her boyfriend breaks up with her, things aren't so going well for her at work, and she keeps stepping in gum while wearing her favorite shoes! She decides to make a change and takes a new job at the Pokémon resort. She has one task in her new role as a concierge: making sure the Pokémon are having a good time!

Haru struggles with the lack of structure at her job at first (seriously, Haru?! You've got my dream job!) but quickly warms up to it and befriends a Psyduck roaming the area. I knew it being stop motion would severely limit the amount of Pokémon they could show, but I was really impressed with all the little details they packed in. And between you and me, the last episode totally made me cry at the end (my allergies allowed me to hide it thankfully, lol).

My only complaint is that it's only four episodes long, I was hoping it would be as long as the original Rilakkuma and Kaoru, but I know stop motion production is very slow. Season 2, please!
